BRIGHT
FrancisR. Hodges
5/12/98
I am interested in contacting anyone who is researchingthe prominent BRIGHT
family of Craven/Dobbs/Lenoircounties in the eighteenth centuries. Much
of theresearch done by Creasey in the forties appears
very seriously
flawed in light of what has been discovered since then. Research by Dr.
Charles Holloman in the sixties and seventies isbetter, but may also contain
serious errors. I amespecially interested in uncovering new documentary
evidence(wills, Bible records, deeds, indentures, etc.) for proof, as Ithink
I have found a number of places where the chronologicalevidence renders these
traditional interpretationswrong.
