Would greatly appreciate any information on Absolum ELMORE.He is listed in the 1800 Federal Census for Lenoir Co. By1810 he was in South Carolina, Darlington Co. where hemade deeds of gift to his children: Tully, Jesse, John William,Levi and Elizabeth. He may have been preparing to move elsewhereor perhaps this was in leiu of a will. That's all we know abouthim. Two of the sons Tully and Jesse remained in SC and we havesome info on them. Thanks to anybody who may have somethinghelpful on this ancestor. Tully ELMORE was b. abt 1793 inNC and d. 1866 in SC. There may be a connection to the BRAMLETTfamily as Tully is mentioned in reference to William and JaneBramlett. Jesse Elmore m. Eliza OUTLAW. Thanks.

Need parents of Isaac GRANT b. abt. 1765 in Dobbs(Lenoir Co.) One story says mother was Mary CALLOWAYGrant. Another says mother was Charlotte GRANVILLE. Fatheris supposed to be Alexander GRANT. Siblings include Anneb. 1767, Polly b. 1769, Elizabeth b. 1771, Gardner b. 1773, Johnb. 1775, and James b. 1777. The family moved sometime before 1800to Washington Co. I am searching for the ancestors of Bryant TINDLE, whoresided in Greene County during the 1830s, but left GreeneCounty in 1840 for Iredell County and eventually movedon to Arkansas. Bryant TINDLE was married toElizabeth HILL, daughter of Richard HILL and Martha(Patsey) MURPHREY. Based on census records, Bryant wasborn in 1808. The only TINDLE who had a male child ofBryant's age in both 1810 and 1820 was a James TINDLE of LenoirCounty. Can anyone confrim that James TINDLE wasBryant's father or provide any other information on Bryant?Thanks.

The family is listedin the 1870 census taken at Speights Bridge, p. 42.Children listed are William, Mary E., Mandy, George, John J.,Sally, Penny, Samuel, James W., Carry, and Zadock. John TILLMAN was born in Somerset Co. MD in 1705and died in Preble Co. OH in 1809. He married Eva DRYDEN.In about 1740 they moved to Dobbs Co. NC (Peters1953:150). His son, Tobias TILLMAN, was born in OrangeCo. NC on June 5, 1751, so the family had moved there bythen. His son Tobias appears on the tax lists from 1780-81 in OrangeCo. and then 1782-87 in Botetort Co. and so he likelylived there with his son and at some other time in Orange Co.VA (Peters 1953:150), then Knox Co. TN. In 1805 hemoved to Preble Co. OH with child and grandchildren. I amlooking for information concerning his time in Dobbs Co.and especially data about his wife and possible other children.Only Tobias is known.

They moved to RandolphCounty [1800], on to Tennessee [1806], PulaskiCounty, KY [1816 or so}, Lawrence Co., Indiana afterthat, and he died in Scotland, Green Co., Indiana. He wasa Revolutionary War Veteran fighting on the South Carolina Line.He had sons: Alexander, Joel, Joshua, Sanders, John and Isaac.Looking for information on the SHOTWELL family and on theparents/siblings of Isaac HERRING. Is "SHOTWELL"a distortion of "SOCWELL" which is a distortionof "STOCKSTELL"?

I am trying to find any information on Samuel BUSHEE andwife Elizabeth (Betsy). Need her last name and when they weremarried. I believe it was about 1825 to 1830. Also I am trying tofind the parents of Martha GILES. She married Consider BUSHEEon 17 Nov. 1855. His brother George Washington BUSHEEmarried Nancy GILES which I believe may be the sister toMartha. I do not know where Consider and Martha were married. Ido know they were not married in Cumberland Co. Considerand Martha BUSHEE's daughter was Delphia and married HardyADAMS 23 Jun 1880. Hardy and Delphia were my greatgrandparents. Hardy was supposed to have died in a horse andbuggy accident in 1887 but have not been able to find any recordof this. Please help.
