Original Marriage Bond Council Hooten M/Bond Matilda Clark Know all men by these presents that Council HOOTEN and Council CLARK of Warren County and State of Mississippi are held and firmly bound unto T. M Tucker, Governor of the State of Mississippi (for the time being) and his successors in office in the sum of Two Hundred dollars current money of the United States. For which payment will and truly to be made we bind ourselves our heirs executors and administrators jointly and severally firmly by these presents. Sealed within our Seals and dated the 4th day of September 1843. The condition of the above obligation is such that wereas a marriage is inteded to be celebrated between the above bound Council Hooten and Matilda Clark. Now if there be no lawful cause to obstruct said marriage or any reason why the same should not take place then this Bond to be void and of no effect, otherwise to remain in full force and virtue.
