Adele S. Koonce
Mrs. Adele Sutton Koonce, 89 of 606 Abbott Street died Thursday in
Guardian Care Nursing Home. She was the widow of the late F. Joseph
Koonce, Sr. of Jones County and a member of Queen Street Methodist
Church. Services will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday from the chapel of
Garner-Howard Funeral Home with the Rev. Dexter Wasson and Rev.
Gerald Peterson officiating. Burial will follow in Maplewood Cemetery.
Survivors include two sons, F. Joseph Koonce, Jr. and Bruce Koonce,
both of Kinston; five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. The
family will receive friends at the funeral home Friday from 7-9 p.m. and at
other times at the home of F. Joseph Koonce, Jr. at 1902 Carey Road.
Memorials may be made to Queen Street Methodist Church or
Southwood Memorial Christian Church.
