Arlene K. Howard

PINK HILL—Arlene King Howard, 66, of 657 West Pleasant Hill Road, 
Pink Hill passed away at her home on Tuesday Oct. 10, 2000.  Devoted 
wife, mother, sister and friend to many, she was also vice-president of 
Heritage House Florist.  She was preceded in death by sons, William 
James Howard and Danny Kaye Howard; parents, Ivey and Viola (Vicie) 
Adams Howard of Jones County; brothers, Coy, Bill, Dalton and 
Raymond King.  She is survived by her husband of 46 years, Morris 
Ray Howard of the home; son, Dennis R. Howard of Kinston; daughter, 
Pamela J. Howard of the home; two sisters, Olene K.Harrison of Jones 
County and Joan K. Phillips of Raleigh; one brother, Ivey M. (Stump) 
King of Jones County and many loving nieces, nephews, in-laws and 
friends.  Services will be held from the chapel of Pink Hill Funeral Home 
at 3 p.m. Friday, Oct. 13, 2000 with the Rev. Robert Bucknam officiating.  
Burial will follow at the Pleasant Hill Christian Church Cemetery.  The 
family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 12, 2000 at 
Pink Hill Funeral Home and other times at the home, 657 West 
Pleasant Hill Road, Pink Hill.  Flowers are welcome or memorial 
contribution may be made to the Pleasant Hill Christian Church 
Cemetery Fund, Mrs. Pat Whaley, Treasurer, Route 5 Box 139-A,
