Betty Lou Smith
Miss Betty Lou Smith, 23, of 1106 Eleanor Avenue died Tuesday in Duke Medical
Center after a linger illness. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. at Seymour
Funeral Chapel in the Phillips family cemetery in Jones County. The Rev. Glenn
Savage will officiate.
She graduated with honors in Art from Appalachain State University where she
was a member of Gamma Beta Phi. A honor graduate of Eastern Wayne High
School, she was a member of Northview Christian Church. She is survived by her
parents Louis William and Eleanor Phillips Smith; a sister, Rosemary Smith
Watkins of Goldsboro; two nieces, Paige and Elise Watkins; her fiancee, Scott
Brenk of Ashville; maternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. W. E. Phillips, Sr. of Trenton.
The family requests memorials be made to Northview Christian Church, Rt. 7
Goldsboro, N.C. 27530.
The family will receive friends at the residence.
