Cynthia Cox Pollock           October 6, 1967

Mrs. Cynthis C. Pollock, 92, one of Jones County’s oldest and best-known died at 
4:15 p.m. Friday at a Kinston hospital.  She was widow of Jim Pollock of Shady 
Grove community in Jones County and the daughter of the late William S. and Liza 
Waller Cox.  She was a member of Lanes Chapel Christian Church on Highway 58, 
11 miles north of Trenton.  Funeral services will be held at 3:30 p.m. Sunday from 
the chapel at Howard and Carter Funeral Home.  A former pastor, Rev. L. B. Bennett 
of Macclesfield, will officiate at the final rites.  Burial will follow in the Pollock family 
cemetery in Chinquapin Township in Jones County.  Survivors include three daughters, 
Mrs. Lea Huggins of Trenton, Mrs. Willie G. Westbrook of Kinston Rt. 3 and Mrs. 
Garland G. Hill of Kinston; six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren; one sister, 
Mrs. J. L. Jarman of Trenton Rt. 2; several nieces and nephews.
