Carrie D. Gilbert
Mrs. Carrie Dail Gilbert, 83, of Trenton Rt. 1 died at 2:10 p.m. Tuesday at the
home of her daughter, Mrs. George Civils of Farmville Route 1, after an illness of
some time. She was the daughter of the late Henry and Annie Winnifred Kornegay
Dail of Duplin County and the widow of W. N. Gilbert. She was a member of Shady
Grove Methodist Church. Funeral service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday from
Garner’s Funeral Chapel with interment to follow in Westview Cemetery. Rev. Lionel
Swenk, Methodist of Trenton will officiate at the final rites. Surviving are three
daughters, Mrs. Civils, Mrs. Wallace Lee of Mt. Olive and Mrs. Roscoe Williams of
Kinston Rt. 5; one son, Nathan of Trenton Rt. 1; five grandchildren; six great-grandchildren;
one brother, Henry Dail of Goldsboro; two sisters, Mrs. Germon Powell of Kenansville
and Mrs. Carnie Parker of Mount Olive and a number of nieces and nephews.
