David Stadiem Obituary




KINSTON—David Stadiem, 87, 1201 Sutton Drive, Kinston, N. C. passed away at 
Lenoir Memorial Hospital on Sunday May 22, 2005.  Mr. Stadiem was a local retail 
merchant and former owner of H. Stadiem in Kinston.  He was a charter member of 
Kinston Elks Lodge, an active member of Kinston Power Squadron and Temple 
Israel and former member of the Kinston School Board.  Survivors include his wife 
Hilda Wade Stadiem of the home, one daughter Ann Stadiem Laven and husband 
Michael of Roanoke, Va.; one son, Hyman Stadiem and wife Diane Rider Stadiem 
and daughter, Laura; and two grandchildren, Mark and David Levan of Roanoke, Va.  
He was preceded in death by his parents, Yettie Shapiro and Hyman Stadiem; four 
brothers and three sisters.  Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, 
May 24, 2005 at Maplewood Cemetery with Rabbi James Apple officiating.  
Memorial contributions may be made to The Community Council for the Arts at 
400 N. Queen St., Kinston, NC 28501, or to one’s favorite local charity.  The family 
will receive friends at the home at 1201 Sutton Drive on Monday, May 23, 2005,
