Dallas Turner

Dallas Turner, Jr., 60, of Kinston Rt. 5 died Sunday at Lenoir Memorial 
Hospital.  He was the son of Dallas and Nannie Mae Oglesby Turner of 
Lenoir County and the foster child of the late Felix and Blanche Moore 
Taylor of Lenoir County.  He was owner of Turner Outboards and Chain 
Saws and Dallas Turner Insurance Ageny, a member of Lanie’s Chapel 
Christian Church, a member of the board of directors of the North 
Carolina Grange Mutual Insurance Company, master of the Southwood 
Grange, secretary of the Southeastern Christian Men’s Fellowship and 
active member of the Eastern North Carolina Bluegrass Association.  
Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Garner-Howard Funeral Home 
chapel with the Rev. Morgan Daugherty and the Rev. Eugene Purcell 
officiating.  Burial will follow in Pinelawn Memorial Park.  Survivors 
include his wife, Eloise Hill Turner of the home; two daughters, Mrs. 
Wilma Gaye Turner Welles and Mrs. Connie Renee Turner Brown 
both of Kinston; a son, Dallas Lynn Turner of Kinston; four sisters, 
Mrs. Becky Turner Waller of Carey, Mrs. Sarah Turner Pate of Raleigh, 
Mrs. Grace Turner Learst of McClemens, Mich. and Mrs. Shelby 
Turner Eakin of Leesburg, Fla.; five grandchildren and a great-grandchild.  
The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Monday at the funeral 
home and other times, at the home.
