ESTELLE ERVIN ADAMS

KINSTON—Mrs. Estelle Ervin Adams, 87, passed away Monday, Dec. 5, 2005, 
following a brief hospitalization.  A native of Jones County, she was born August 
22, 1918, daughter of the late James Walter and Annie Elizabeth Ervin.  Estelle 
graduated from Trenton High School.  She was a member of Northwest Christian 
Church, Woodmen of the World, Elks and the Eastern Star.  Estelle was a very 
proud, strong and independent woman.  She worked as a seamstress for several 
years at H. Stadiem.  Estelle was preceded in death by her parents; sister, 
Kathleen Meeks; brothers, Horace, Leon, George Earl and James Walter, Jr.; her 
grandson, Robert Earl Adams, Jr.; great-grandson, Kendall Herrara; daughters-in-law, 
Audrey Rouse Adams, Wenona Jones Adams and her former husband, Herman 
Leslie Adams.  Funeral services will be held at 7 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 10 at Edwards 
Funeral Home with the Rev. Lawrence Taylor officiating.  The family will receive 
friends following the service.  Interment will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 11, at 
Pinelawn Memorial Park.  Estelle is survived by her son, Herman L. Adams, Jr. and 
wife Evonne of Sun Lakes, Ariz.; son, Gary Duane Adams and wife, Tammy of 
Kinston; sister, Blanche Waters of Kinston; eight grandchildren; Robin Roberson, 
Terry Lee, Deneena Herrara, Tracy Reiten, Scott Adams, Gary II, Brittany and Alex 
Adams; 11 great-grandchildren, Devon and Carolina Herrara, Madeline and David 
Reiten, Emma Adams, Madisen Adams, Hillary and Adam Lee, Derek, Kelly and 
Lindsay Walton; and several nieces and nephews.  Arrangements by Edwards 
Funeral Home.
