John Moses Croom Photo John Moses Croom Obituary Transcription: Free Press/Friday, November 22, 1996 JOHN MOSES CROOM KINSTON--Mr. John Moses Croom, 84, of Route 4, died Thursday, November 21, 1996, in Guardian Care of Kinston. Mr. Croom was Ret. U. S. Navy and retired supervisor at Caswell Center, member of Sandy Bottom Missionary Baptist Church, where he served as deacon; and was a member of Sandy Bottom Vol. Fire Department and St. John’s Masonic Lodge. He was the son of the late Jesse and Mary Moore Croom. Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday, November 23, from Edwards Funeral Home chapel with the Rev. Floyd Enzor officiating. Burial will follow in Pinelawn Memorial Park with military honors. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Anna Belle Fordham Croom of the home; two sons and daughters-in-law, Douglas L. and Jerry Noble Croom of Rocky Mount, NC and Lester C. and Ruth Gaskins Croom of Kinston; two brothers, Bruce and Jesse Croom, both of Kinston; six grandchildren and nine great grandchildren. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Friday (today) at the funeral home, and at other times at the home, Route 4, Kinston, NC 28501. Edwards Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
