Milton Roscoe Williams Photo Milton Roscoe Williams Obituary Transcription: Milton Roscoe Williams Kinston—Milton Roscoe Williams, 79, 3200 Hwy 58 South, died Thursday, October 16, 1997, at his home. He was a retired farmer, and member of Lanie’s Chapel Church, where he served as a deacon, elder and a trustee. He was preceded in death by his mother, Elizabeth Oglesby Williams, and his father Benjamin Franklin Williams. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday from the chapel at Garner Funeral Home with the Rev. E. G. Purcell, Jr. and Rev. Morgan Daughety officiating. Entombment will follow at Pinelawn Memorial Park. Survivors include his wife, Sallie Gilbert Williams; a daughter, Jeanette Williams Corcoran and husband, Tom of Kinston; a son, M. R. Williams II and wife, Teena of Kinston; two sisters, Marie Williams Ball of Pawney Island, SC and Katherine Williams Coston of Hubert, NC; seven grandchildren: M. R. “Prey” Williams, III of Kinston, John Colin Ocella of Gastonia, Jennifer Ayn Corcoran Coss of Charlotte, William Clayton Corcoran of Canton, MI, Thomas Kevin Corcoran of Baltimore, MD, Karen Elizabeth Corcoran of Pensacola, FL and Christian Williams Corcoran of Charlotte; and two great grandchildren, Nicholas Brandon Corcoran and Christopher William Corcoran, both of Canton, MI. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p. m. Friday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Lanie’s Chapel Christian Church, Rt. 3, Box 311, Kinston, NC 28504.
