Robert Lee Fordham Obituary Transcription: ROBERT LEE FORDHAM Robert Lee Fordham, 83, of Route 3, Kinston, died Thursday, June 1, 1989. Services will be held Saturday, June 3 at 3 p.m. from the chapel at Garner-Howard Funeral Home with the Rev. James McLean officiating. Burial will follow in Pinelawn Memorial Park with full Masonic Rites. The son of the late Jesse and Roberta Williams Fordham of Jones County, he is survived by his wife, Clarine Wilcox Fordham of the home; a nephew, Saul Moore, whom he reared, of Kinston; a sister Winnie Fordham Wooten of Kinston and a niece and a nephew. He attended North Carolina State College and was a lifelong farmer. He was a member of Pleasant Hill Christian Church, active in the Shady Grove United Methodist Church, and past Master of the Pleasant Hill Masonic Lodge No. 304. He served for more than 20 years as a supervisor of the Jones County Soil and Water Conservation, a charter member of the Jones County Farm Bureau, and actively served in the organization of the original tobacco program, served as ASCD committeeman, and a Justice of the Peace. Memorial contributions may be made to Shady Grove United Methodist Church, c/o Rev. James McLean, Route 3, Kinston, NC 28501. The family will receive friends 7 to 9 p. m.
