Russell Kelly “Rusty” Lee Obituary Russell Kelly Lee Russell Kelly “Rusty” Lee, 23, of Kinston Rt. 5 died Thursday at Lenoir Memorial Hospital. He was a contractor. Graveside services will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. at Westview Cemetery. The Rev. Sword will officiate. Survivors include his parents Mr. and Mrs. Vann Lee of the home; three brothers, Jerry Lee, Floyd Lee and Glen “Beet” Lee, all of Dallas, Texas; four sisters, Mrs. Vanessa L. Pierce, Mrs. Alice Lee Elmore, Miss Jennifer Lee and Mrs. Glenda Cahoon all of Kinston; his paternal grandmother, Mrs. Alice Lee of Pantego; his maternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. C. W. Wells of Bailey. The family will receive friends from 7:30 to 8:30 p.m. Friday at Edwards Funeral Home. Memorial contributions may be made to Southwood Volunteer Fire Department. --August 9, 1986-- Wreck kills one A 23 year old Kinston man was killed in a two vehicle accident after he apparently failed to stop his truck at the intersection of rural paved roads 1091 and 1704 near Hugo at 7:10 a.m. Thursday. Russell Kelly Lee, 23, of Kinston Route 5 was killed instantly in the crash. He was driving a 1985 Chevrolet pickup truck east on RPR 1704 when he drove through the intersection. His vehicle collided with a 1978 Chevrolet Monte Carlo being driven by George Allen Taylor, 30, of Hookerton traveling south on RPR 1091. The Taylor car struck the truck on the driver’s side door. Taylor was taken to Lenoir Memorial Hospital where he was being treated for his injuries early this morning. Neither Taylor or Lee were wearing seatbelts, according to the State Highway Patrol reports. Trooper M. R. Cain investigated the accident. No charges have been filed
