Sallie Mae Gilbert Williams Photo Sallie Mae Gilbert Williams Obituary Sallie Mae Gilbert Williams Kinston—Sallie Mae Gilbert Williams, 89, of 3200 Hwy 58 South died Tuesday, February 27, 2007, at her home. She was a homemaker and a member of Lanie’s Chapel Church where she served as secretary for over 20 years. Her love of her garden and the farm land would find her on her lawnmower most of the time. She was preceded in death by her parents, William Nathan and Carrie Dail Gilbert and by the love of her life, her husband of over 57 years, Milton Roscoe Williams, had she known the love they shared she would have married him sooner. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Thursday, March 1, 2007, from the chapel of Garner Funeral Home with the Rev. Bill Roberts officiating. Entombment will follow in Pinelawn Memorial Park. Survivors include her daughter, Jeanette Williams Corcoran whom was preceded in death by her husband, Tom; her children, Jennifer Corcoran Coss and husband, Steve of Charlotte, William Clayton Corcoran and wife, Edna of Canton, Mich., Father Thomas Kevin Corcoran of Hawthorn, N. J., Karen Corcoran Christensen and husband John, of Centennial, Colo., and Christian Williams Corcoran of Charlotte; her son, M. R. Williams, II and wife, Teena of Kinston, and sons, Trey Williams and Colin Ocello and wife, Tara; her great-grandchildren, Lucas, Kevin and Erin Coss; Nicholas and Christopher Corcoran, Nate and Anna Christensen, Kendall, Jacob and Lauren Ocello. The family will receive friends from 7-9 p. m. on Wednesday evening at the funeral home and other times at her home. A special thanks to Dr. Hubert Pierce, special aides and Chuck Skelton of 3HC Hospice, and her personal caregivers, Vivian Moore and Gertrude Jackson.
