Sybil Cauley Taylor
The funeral for Mrs. Sybil Taylor, held from the residence on North Herritage Street
here and at the Collie Private cemetery seven miles from here late Monday was
largely attended. The services were conducted by Rev. Curtis W. Howard, of the
Disciples of Christ and Rev. Chas. L. Read, Methodist. A quartet from the Gordon
Street Christian Church sang at the services. The pallbearers were prominent
friends of the decedant. Mrs. Taylor, who was 62 years of age, a native of Lenoir
County, and the wife of James F. Taylor, was the mother of the following well-known
persons: Reuben and Raymond Taylor of Snow Hill, sons; Mrs. George F. Simmons,
of Kinston, with whom she was residing at the time of her death, and Mrs. W. G.
Haynes, daughters. Several brothers and sisters also survive. Mrs. Taylor was noted
for her fine character and amiable disposition.
