Vera E. Daughety
Mrs. Vera Elizabeth Johnson Daughety, 77, of Kinston Rt. 3 died Monday at
Britthaven Nursing Home. The daughter of the late Ralph E. and Tiffany Brown
Johnson of Lenoir County and widow of the late Ralph Lee Daughety was a
homemaker and member of Lanie’s Chapel Christian Church. Services will be
held at 2 p.m. Wednesday from Howard-Carter Funeral chapel, with the Rev.
Eugene Purcell and the Rev. James McClain officiating. Burial will follow in
Pinelawn Memorial Park. Survivors include four daughters, Mrs. Russell
Daughety McDaniel of Kinston, Mrs. Ann Daughety Dixon of Pollocksville, Mrs.
Joyce Daughety King of Wilmington and Mrs. Nell Daughety Davis of Swansboro;
two brothers, Percy Johnson of Kinston and Frank Johnson of Bayonne, N.J.;
seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends
from 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home and at other times at the home of
Mrs. Russell McDaniel at Kinston, Rt. 3.
