Vera Fordham McGrath Cox
Vera Fordham McGrath Cox, 66, of Rt. 6, Kinston, died Saturday Feb. 13, 1993.
She attended Lanies’ Chapel Church. Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Tuesday
at Howard-Carter and Stroud Funeral Home with the Rev. Angie Neal Wilcox of
Winston-Salem, and Ray Brooks of Shady Grove Methodist Church, Kinston,
officiating. Burial will follow in Westview Cemetery in Kinston. She was prededed
in death by her father, Branch Fordham, and her mother, Nannie Wilcox Fordham
McDaniel. Survivors include her husband, Herbert Cox of the home; a son and
daughter-in-law, Richard W. McGrath and Sandy Gagne McGrath of Colonial
Heights, VA, three brothers: Edward Fordham of New Bern, NC, Cecil Fordham of
Kinston, and Victor Fordham of Jacksonville, NC; two sisters, Beatrice Fordham
Scarborough of Chesapeake, VA, and Doris Fordham Julian of Portsmouth, VA; two
granddaughters, Shelly McGrath and Holly McGrath of Colonia Heights, VA; her
step-mother, Rachel Fordham, two half-brothers, Lennie and Ronnie Fordham, all of
Jacksonville, NC, and a half-sister, Virginia Ripley of Garner, NC. The family will
receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Monday at Howare-Carter and Stroud Funeral Home
and at other times at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Cecil Fordham, Rt. 5 Kinston.
