TO BE 2:30 THURSDAY
‘Uncle Bill’ Succumbs at Local Hospital Early Wednesday
William (Uncle Bill) Gilbert
(Died Jan. 28, 1948)
William N. (Uncle Bill) Gilbert, 66, died in a local hospital at 7:30 a. m. Wednesday
from heart trouble and complications which followed a four months’ period of declining
health.
The funeral will be held Edwards Funeral Home here at 2:30 p. m. Thursday in Westview
Cemetery on the Goldsboro highway. Rev. W. E. Howard of Trenton and Rev. J. T.
Young of Snow Hill, Methodists ministers will officiate
Surviving are his widow, Mrs. Carrie Dail Gilbert; three sons, Paul W. and Nathan Gilbert of
Jones County and J. B. Gilbert of Kinston; three daughters, Mrs. G. C. Civils of Farmville,
Mrs. Wallace Lee of Trenton and Mrs. Roscoe Williams of Kinston; a brother E. M. Gilbert
of Trenton; three sisters, Mrs. Zora Koonce, Mrs. Cattie Lowery and Mrs. Robert Fordham,
all of Trenton; four grandchildren, one great-grandson and a large number of nieces and nephews.
