Spence Rites Set
For 2 on Tuesday

   Albert Leon Spence, 43, a prominent farmer of the Pink Hill section, died in the 
Veteran’s Hopsital at Richmond, Va., about 9:15 a.m. Sunday after an illness of 
some months.  Rev. Jimmy Miller of the Westminster Methodist Church, assisted 
by Rev. D. C. Boone of the Pink Hill Methodist Church, will conduct the final 
services from Garner’s Funeral Home at 2 p.m. Tuesday.  Burial will follow in 
Westview Cemetery.

   A veteran of World War II, the deceased served about three years in the 
European theater of war.  He is survived by his wife, Mildred Meadows Spence; 
his mother, Mrs. J. T. Spence, Sr.; three brothers, Herman Spence of Kinston, 
J. T. Spence of Pink Hill and Joe Spence of Chapel Hill; three sisters, Miss Erma 
Spence of Pink Hill, Mrs. John C. Smith of Pink Hill and Mrs. N. E, Scott of 
Richmond, Va., and several nieces and nephews.

   Pallbearers will be Keith Williams, Lee Wilcox, Adolph Cox, Leslie Quinn, Jimmy 
Turner and Gurney Worley.
