Obituary of Alonza Llewellyn Edwards ~ 1958

The following obituary appeared in the Free Press, Kinston, NC. 
"ALONZA L. EDWARDS: Alonza Llewellyn Edwards, 82, well known Kinstonain, died at 
his home at 303 East Washington Avenue at about 4:30 p.m. Saturday after a lingering 
illness. He was a native of Pitt County and a son of the late W. S. and Sarah Tripp 
Edwards. He was a retired employee of the Norfolk Southern Railroad Company. He was 
a member of Gordon Street Christian Curch and a member of Hollywood Camp No. 46 of 
the Woodmen of the World.

He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Annie Cornelia Coward Edwards of the home; one son, 
Atlas L. of Pennsylvania; three daughters, Miss Jesse Edwards of Greensboro, Miss Mary 
Elizabeth Edwards of the home, and Mrs. W. H. Sparks of Ahoskie; four grandchildren; and 
one sister, Mrs. C. L. Cannon of Ayden."
