Bernice Benton Civils
LA GRANGE—Bernice Benton Civils, 83, of 3499 Pauls Path Road, died Saturday,
April 10, 2004, at Lenoir Memorial Hospital. She was a homemaker and lifetime
member of the Eastern Star, Trenton Chapter. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m.
Tuesday from the chapel of Garner Funeral Home with the Rev. Ruffin Hill officiating.
Burial will follow in Pinelawn Memorial Park. Survivors include her son, David M. Civils,
Jr. and wife, Faye, of Trenton; her sister, Evelyn Hatch of Kinston; her brothers, Malcolm
E. Benton of the home, Hugh F. Benton, Sr. of Kinston and John P. Benton of LaGrange;
two step grandchildren and two step great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. (Paid obituary)
