Carrus Lee Davis 
 
KINSTON - Carrus Lee Davis, 87, of 1216 Leslie R. Stroud Road, passed away 
on Friday, January 22, 2010, at Lenoir Memorial Hospital. He was a member of 
Sandy Bottom Baptist Church for over 54 years and had served in the past as a 
Deacon and Usher. He was preceded in death by his parents, Cyrus and Julia 
Davis; an infant son, Donald Ray Davis; a sister, Frances Davis; and his brothers, 
James, Levie, Randolph and Rodolph Davis. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. 
on Sunday, January 24, 2010, from the chapel of Garner Funeral Home with Pastor 
Mike Dixon and the Reverend Jimmie Williams officiating. Interment will follow in 
Pinelawn Memorial Park. Survivors include his wife of 55 years, Margie Hill Davis of 
the home; his daughters, Julia An-nette Davis of Beaufort and Vicky Davis Corbett 
and husband Bennie, of Greensboro; his grand-children, Hunter Davis Corbett and 
Meredith Anne Corbett; his sisters, Helen Davidson of Tren-ton and Carolyn Jones 
of Kinston; and several nieces and nephews. The family would like to express 
special thanks to the Staff of Station 5 at Britthaven of Kinston where Mr. Davis has 
been for the past three years. In lieu of flowers, the family request memorials made 
to Sandy Bottom Baptist Church, Building Fund, 4568 Highway 55 West, Kinston 
28504. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. on Saturday evening at the funeral 
home and other times at his home. Funeral arrangements by Garner Funeral Home.
