KINSTON - In memory of Clara Mae Farmer Hill. Mrs.Clara Mae Farmer Hill, 93, passed away 
Wednesday,Feb. 18, 2004. She was born July 23, 1910. She was a retiree of Glen Raven Cotton 
Mill in Kinston after 20 years of service. Mrs. Clara was preceded in death by her parents, 
William and Rachel Farmer; and her late husband of 74 years, Sgt. Maj. Johnnie H. Hill of the
Salvation Army Corps of Kinston. Mrs. Clara Mae Farmer Hill had four brothers,Jake Farmer, 
William Earl Farmer, Herman Farmer and Roy Lee Farmer. She also had four sisters, Viola Manning,
Nora Hill Rouse, Selma Holloway and Bessie Rouse. Graveside services will be held at 3 p.m. 
Thursday at Pinelawn Memorial Park. Survivors are her four sons, John "J.W." Hill and wife, 
Audie, of Kinston, Linwood "Dick" Hill and wife, Darlene, of Bridgeport, Ohio, Robert "Tenny"
Earl Hill of Valrico, Fla., Roy "Fella" Hill and wife, Suzanne, of Fayetteville; and one
daughter, Mary "Sister Hill" Elizabeth Hill Hays, and husband, Billy, of Shreveport,La..; 13 
grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and 4 great-great-grandchildren.Pallbearers will be her 
grandsons, Robert Langston, David Phillips, Forrest Hill,Richard Hill, Rory Hill, Lee Hill, 
Sean Hill and Mark Hill. Officiating the service will be two of her sons, Sgt. Maj. J.W. Hill 
of Kinston and Chaplain Roy Hill of Fayetteville.
