November 30, 1953. The following obituary appeared in The Kinston Daily Free Press, Kinston, NC. "WILLIAMS FUNERAL HELD HERE SUNDAY: David Ray Williams, 62, farmer of near Jackson Store, died at 10:30 a.m. Saturday. He was a son of the late James and Eliza Taylor Williams of Lenoir County. He was a member of the Woodington Free Will Baptist Church. Funeral services were held at 3 p.m. Sunday from Garner's funeral home, with burial in Westview Cemetery. Services were conducted by the Rev. Walter Bass, Methodist minister of Kinston, and Rev. Dick Whitley, Baptist Minister of Kinston. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Eunice Albritton Williams; three sons, H. R., James A., and David R. Williams Jr., all of Kinston Route 4; one daughter, Mrs. Harold L. Dail, Goldsboro."
