Della Bryan Becton Hardy,joined her heavenly Father on Monday,September 3,2001 after a lengthy battle with cancer.She was a homemaker and worked with Sears for 6 years and Funk's Seed Research Station for 18 years.She was a loving and devoted wife and mother. Mrs.Hardy was a lifetime member of Woodington United Methodist Church and loved her church and church family.She was preceded in death by her father William Jarman Becton Jr. Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. on Thursday,September 6,2001 from the chapel of Garner Funeral Home with the Rev.Claude Wilson and the REev.Stephen Ruberg officiating. Burial wiil follow in Pinelawn Memorial Park.Survivors include her mother Alice Harriett Becton of Kinston;her husband Arthur Thomas Hardy Jr. of the home;her daughter Diana Elizabeth Hardy of the home;her sons,Arthur Thomas Hardy III and girlfriend,Rachel Ruberg, of Raleigh and Kyle Becton Hardy of the home;her sisters,Gilda Becton McKinney and husband, Heyward,of Raleigh and Susan Becton Moody and husband,Lloyd,of Kinston;several nieces,nephews and many dear friends.
