Frances Lowery Taylor Frances Lowery Taylor, 81, of Kinston, N. C. went home to be with her Lord on Saturday, January 21, 2006. She was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and a friend. She was an active member of Armenia Christian Church and was devoted to the Lord throughout her life. She attended East Carolina Teacher’s College in Greenville, N. C. and served her country in WW II at the Naval Rework Facility in Norfolk, VA. Her interests included gardening and spending time with her family and friends. Frances is survived by son, Paul H. Taylor, Jr., of Kinston, NC; daughter Kay T. Davis and husband Norman, of LaGrange, N.C.; son, Alan R. Taylor and wife Harold, of Lyons, Ga.; grandchildren, Marenda T. Everett and husband Ernie of Kinston, N.C.; Blake L. Taylor and wife Tonya, of Apex, N.C.; Holly D. Gentry and husband, Mark of Goldsboro, N.C.; Dana D. Thacker and husband David of Robbinsville, N.C.; Ashley N. Taylor of Lyons, Ga.; Nicholas W. Taylor of Lyons, Ga.; great-grandchildren, Courtney N. Taylor of Apex, N.C.; Melissa E. Thacker of Robbinsville, N.C.; Andrew D. Thacker of Robbinsville, N.C.; brother, W. W. “Skinny” Lowery and wife Jeannette of Trenton, N.C.; sisters, Verna Belle Lowery of Trenton, N.C.; Louise L. Williams of Kinston, N.C.; Ruth L. Skinner of Trenton, N.C.; Rena L. Manning and husband James Thomas “J. T.” of Greenville, N.C.; and several special nieces and nephews. Frances was preceded in death by her husband, Paul H. Taylor, Sr.; son, Lon O. Taylor; daughter-in-law, Brenda S. Taylor; her parents, John R. a nd Cattie G. Lowery; and brothers, William N. Lowery, J. Gurnade Lowery, Leon S. Lowery; Swindell L. Lowery; James “Wright” Lowery; Stonewall S. Lowery; Harris T. Lowery; sisters, Clara Mae L. May and Katherine “Kat” Lowery. The family will receive friends Sunday, January 22, from 7 to 9 p.m. at Edward’s Funeral Home and other times at her home. Funeral services will be held at Armenia Christian Church on Monday, January 23, at 2 p.m. with the Reverend Roland Jones presiding. Interment will follow at Westview Cemetery. Contributions may be made to the Paul H. and Frances L. Taylor Memorial Scholarship Fund at Lenoir Community College, Kinston, N.C. (Paid obituary).
