Obituary of Geraldine Harrell Eubanks ~ 2010

GRIFTON - Geraldine Harrell Eubanks, 76, died Tuesday, January 12, 2010. Mrs. 
Eubanks was a member of Glen Raven Baptist Church, Kinston, N.C., and actively 
participated in Sunday School, VBS and W.M.U. She was a member and President 
of Ladies Auxillary for Grifton Rescue Squad, and a member of Ladies Auxillary for 
NC National Guard. Mrs. Eubanks coached girl's softball and was an active leader 
in Girls Scouts and 4-H. She had a great love for children, loved to watch humming 
birds at her feeder and squirrels on her deck. She was a good friend, good listener 
and always available for friends or her children's friends, she would listen, laugh, cry, 
and pray with anyone who came to the house. There was always room for at least 
one more at the table. The coffee pot stayed on day and night, the darker it got the 
more awake she was. She was preceded in death by her son, Mark Anthony "Tony" 
Eubanks; her parents, Jesse T. and Mary A. Harrell; and her brothers, Tommy and 
Bobby Harrell. Survivors include her husband of 59 years, Raymond S. Eubanks Jr.; 
her children, Joan E. Fischer of the home, Raymond S. Eubanks III of Woodstock, 
Ga., Randy K. Eubanks of Long Beach, N.C., Kimberly G. Gerber of Grifton; 11 
grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; many in-laws, cousins, nieces and nephews. 
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, January 14, 2010, at Farmer Funeral 
Chapel in Ayden. Burial will follow in Ever-green Memorial Estates. In lieu of flowers, 
please make donations to your favorite charity or mission project. The family will receive
friends Wednesday evening from 7-9 p.m. at Farmer Funeral Home and other times at
