April 19, 1916. Charlotte Observer. HARRY STEIN DIED FROM WOMAN'S BULLET Kinton, April 18 - Harry Stein, young business man, died in a hospital here today from bullet wound inflicted three weeks ago by Margaret Partello, a South Kinston girl, who is being held pending preliminary trial. The police say there is no evidence to offset her claim of self-defense. Stein was a clever amateur athlete. The girl is said to be of Italian parentage. They had been intimates for some time. Margaret Partello says Stein, jealous of her, had drawn a knife to kill her when she fired. Please do not contact me as I do not have any information on these individuals.
