Obituary of Henry Bryan Pittman, Sr ~ 1954

PITTMAN FUNERAL IS SET FOR 3 SUNDAY: Snow Hill - Henry Bryan Pittman, Sr. 72, 
died at 4:30 a.m. Friday of a heart attack at Memorial Mission Hospital in 
Asheville.  He was born in Craven County on April 7, 1882 and is the son of 
Mrs. C. M. Pittman and the late Mr. Pittman of Clarks.  He was a resident of 
Snow Hill for the past 27 years and employed by Quinn-Miller and Company for 
the past 23 years.  Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday from 
Edwards Funeral Home in Snow Hill, with burial in the Maplewood Cemetery in 
Kinston.

Surviving are two sons, Henry Bryan Jr. of Black Mountain, and S-Sgt. Alvin E. 
Pittman of the U. S. Air Force stationed at Sumter, S. C.; two daughters, 
Muriel and Gladys Pittman of Elizabethtown; his mother, Mrs. C, M. Pittman of 
Clarks; two sisters, Mrs. John W. Humphrey of Beaufort and Mrs. Ralph W. Dail, 
Sr. of Snow Hill and three brothers, H. C., James K., and Robert B. Pittman of 
Clarks and one grandson.
Rev. John Miller of Snow Hill, pastor of Presbyterian Church there, will 
officiate.
