Herman P. Fowler 

LA GRANGE - Herman Porter Fowler, 81, of La Grange, passed away Thursday, 
Feb. 4, 2010. He was born Sept. 13, 1928, in Sampson County to the late Porter 
and Viola Marshall Fowler. 
Herman was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Tew Fowler; and a brother, Robert 
Fowler. He enjoyed flea markets and was an avid Kinston Indians fan. 
A graveside service of remembrance will be held Monday, Feb. 8, 2010, at 11 a.m. 
from Pinelawn Memorial Park with Rev. Phillip Walters officiating. 
Herman is survived by a step-daughter, Deborah Peterson and husband, Dennis of 
Kinston; step-grandson, Dennis Peterson Jr. and wife, Jamie of Winterville; two step 
great-grandchildren, Thomas "Bubba" Peterson and Andrew "Tater" Peterson; and a 
sister, Pauline Norris of Sanford. 
The family will receive friends following the graveside service. Online condolences may
