Horace “Pete” Clifton Hill Sr., 52, of Kinston Rt. 2, died Thursday at Lenoir Memorial Hospital. He was the son of Susie Whitley Hill and the late John L. Hill. He was a retired developmental technician with Caswell Center having 24 years and five months of service, and a member of Bethel Free Will Baptist Church. Services will be held at 4 p.m. Sunday from Bethel Free Will Baptist Church. The Rev. David Paramore will officiate. Burial will follow in Westview Cemetery. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Jean S. Hill of the home; three daughters, Ms. Rose Mary Soles, Ms. Susie Hill, and Ms. Heather Sugg, all of the home; three sons, Bobby and Bruce Soles, both of Kinston and Horace C. Hill Jr., of Shaw Air Force Base, S.C.; his mother, Ms. Susie Whitley Hill of Kinston; one sister, Mrs. Emma Lee Williams of Grifton; three brothers, Leonard, Lesley and Wiley “Dock” G. Hill, all of Kinston; and three grandchildren.
