March 15, 1956. The following obituary appeared in the Kinston Daily Free Press, Kinston, NC. "MRS. IDA B. ALBRITTON - Mrs. Ida Bland Albritton, 87, died at Edgecombe Acres Nursing Home at Tarboro about 11:30 a.m. Wednesday after a lengthy illness. She was the widow of James Herbert Albritton of Kinston who died in 1936. She was a daughter of the late T. A. and Mary Smith Bland of Pitt County, and was a member of the Gordon Street Christian Church. Funeral services will be conducted at 3 p.m. Friday from Garner's Funeral Home with burial in Maplewood Cemetery. Services will be conducted by her pastor, Rev. J. Clinton Bradshaw. She is survived by two daughters; Mrs. Eunice A. Williams of Kinston, Route 4 and Mrs. C. R. Jones of Tarboro; eight grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren, and a number of nieces and nephews. Active pall-bearers will be George, Harry and Barnes Bland, and Bill Sanders and Ted Albritton."
