Obituary of James Blackmon Gilbert -- 1958

James B. Gilbert            1958

KINSTON—James Blackmon Gilbert, 47, local plumbing and heating 
contractor, died at a local hospital Monday.  He was a member of 
Westminister Methodist Church and a veteran of World War II.  He 
was also a member of Joseph Dixon Roundtree Post of the American 
Legion.  Funeral services will be held from the Chapel of Garner’s 
Funeral Home at 2 p.m. Wednesday by the Rev. H. L. Watson, his 
pastor.  Burial will be in Westview Cemetery.  He is survived by his wife, 
Edna Cox Gilbert; one daughter, Margaret E. Gilbert, school teacher at 
New Bern, his mother, Carrie Dail Gilbert of Jones County; two brothers, 
Paul and Nathan of Jones County; three sisters, Mrs. M. R. Williams of 
Kinston, Route 5, Mrs. Wallace B. Lee of Mount Olive and Mrs. George 
Civils of Farmville.
