Death Of Sgt. Jesse I. Nunn

DIED, at Stanton, Va., the 30th day of October, 1862, JESSE ISLER NUNN, 1st
Sergeant of Company D, 27th Regiment, N. C. Troops, in the twentieth year of
his age. SERGT. NUNN was a native of Lenoir County, N. C., son of JAMES NUNN,
SR., dec'd. He fought bravely at the battle of Newbern. The deceased left a
widowed mother and several brothers and sisters and many friends to lament his
loss.
