Farmer Sr. February 27,2006 LA GRANGE — Jesse Ray Farmer Sr., 69, of 3658 Pauls Path Road, went to be with his Savior, Sunday, Feb. 26, 2006, following a long battle with cancer. Jesse was born May 10, 1936 in Lenoir County to Sadie Hardison Farmer and the late Drew Farmer. He retired from E.I. Dupont following 29 years of service and was also a retired farmer. Jesse was a 32nd Degree Mason and a Shriner. He was a member of Bethel Free Will Baptist Church, Kinston. Jesse loved his family, friends and enjoyed the company of others. He loved to travel, spend time with his family and attend his church. A service to celebrate Jesse’s life will be held Tuesday, Feb- ruary 28, 2006 at 7 p.m. from Bethel Free Will Baptist Church with Rev. Archie Ratliff and the Rev. Lawrence Taylor officiating. A committal service will be held Wednesday at 11 a.m. from Pinelawn Memorial Park. In addition to his mother, Jesse is survived by his wife of 49 years, Anne Elmore Farmer; two sons, Jesse “Ray” Farmer, Jr. and wife, Pamela Jarnagin Farmer of La Grange, Michael Keith Farmer and wife, Betsy Kearney Farmer of Knightdale; six grand- children, Jessica, Megan, Sara, Caitlin, Hannah and Jesse Farmer; two sisters, Vivian Layden and husband, Griffin of La Grange and Patricia Everett and husband, George of Kinston. Jesse was preceded in death by two sisters, Marie Humphrey and Jean Carlyle.
