Emerald Isle—Jessie Frances Oglesby Hill, 86, of Emerald Isle, formerly of Kinston, passed away on Tuesday, April 15, 2008. Frances was born January 8, 1922, in Lenoir County to the late Alex and Florence Taylor Oglesby. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Frank Hill; son, Faron Hill; sisters, Lucille Pugh, Elizabeth Gossett, and Irene Sinclair. Survivors include her sons, William Franklin “Fuzzy” Hill and wife Linda, of Deep Run and Foye Oglesby Hill and wife Patsy, of Kinston; grandchildren, Wendy Powell, Chris Hill, Kathy H. Tyndall, Will Hill, and Corey A. Hill; nine great-grandchildren; brother, Edward Freeman “Pete” Oglesby of Kinston; and sister, Dorothy Dunbar of Kinston. Funeral Services will be held at 7 p.m. Thursday, April 17, 2008, at Howard-Carter Funeral Home with the Reverends Steve Dixon and Milton Hill officiating. The family will receive visitors immediately following the service and other times at the home of her son, William Franklin Hill.
