June 30, 1914. Charlotte Observer. J. E. TURNAGE Rocky Mount, June 29 - Following several months of declining health, Mr. J. E. Turnage died suddenly Sunday morning shortly after 8 o'clock at his home on Marigold street. A few minutes before his death he was apparently as bright and cheerful as at any time in weeks. The deceased was 61 years old and with his family moved to this city from Kinston early in the present year. A widow, three sons and three daughters survive. The sons are Messrs. L. C. Turnage of this city and Lewis Turnage of Washington City. The daughters are all young ladies just or not yet in their teens and they made their home with their parents. The funeral was held today in Kinston. Please do not contact me as I do not have any information on these individuals.
