Kinston Free Press Saturday, June 27, 1970 JOEY STROUD. Joey Stroud, five year old son of L. J. and Margaret Malpass Stroud of Pink hill Route 1 died Friday night at N. C. Memorial Hospital in Chapel Hill after a lengthy period of declining health. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday from the chapel of Howard and Carter Funeral Home with Rev. James Andrews of the Pink Hill Church of God officiating. Burial will be in Pinelawn Memorial Park. He had two brothers who died of the same kidney ailment. Ricky Stroud died in 1962 and Micky in 1960. Surviving in addition to his parents are his paternal grandmother Mrs. Annie R. Stroud of Deep Run; his maternal grandparents, Mr. And Mrs. Sherman Malpass of Pink Hill; his great-grandmother, Mrs. Blanche Byrd Davis of Pink Hill and several uncles and aunts.
