J. W. “JAY” ERVIN, JR.

Kinston-“J.W.” (Jay) Ervin, Jr., age 72, of 2714 Brookhaven Drive died Saturday, 
April 26, 1997 at Lenoir Memorial Hospital.  He was a retired owner and operated 
of Ervin Bros. Electric Co. for over 30 years.  He was a veteran of W.W.II, a 
sustaining member of the Civil Air Patrol; Lions Club, Exchange Club of Kinston; 
The Power Squadron; and the VFW.  Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. 
Tuesday, April 29, 1997 at Edwards Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. W. H. 
Willis officiating.  Burial will follow in Pinelawn Memorial Park.

Survivors include his wife, Bonnie W. Ervin of the home; two sons, James Eric 
Ervin and wife Marianne of Kinston and James W. Klickovitch and wife Marlene 
of Petersburg, NJ; a daughter, Jimi Ervin Spears and husband, Michael of Kinston; 
three grandchildren: Cameron Spears of Kinston, Chase McLawhorn of Kinston, 
Matt and Erica Klickovitch of Petersburg, NJ; two sisters, Blanch E. Waters and 
Estelle E. Adams both of Kinston; his mother-in-law, Evelyn Whitehurst of Kinston; 
a special nephew, Kenny Meeks and wife Diane of Kinston  Family visitation will 
be held from 7 to 9 p.m. Monday night at Edwards Funeral Home.  Contributions 
may be made to American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 1761, Kinston, NC 28501.
