KINSTON – Mrs. Kathleen Whaley Gilbert, 92, of 3206 Hillman Road, died Tuesday, 
Oct. 31, 2000, at her daughter’s residence at 2406 Elizabeth Ave. in New Bern, N.C.  
Mrs. Gilbert was a farm owner and member of New Testament Baptist Church.  
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, Nov. 3, 2000 at Edwards Funeral 
Home Chapel with the Rev. Tim Daniels officiating.  Interment will follow in Westview 
Cemetery.  She is survived by four daughters, Mildred Ervin of Raleigh, N.C., Christine 
DeBruhl and Edna Potter, both of Kinston, N.C. and Betty Pollock and husband 
Kenneth of New Bern, N.C.; 11 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.  The family 
will receive friends at Edwards Funeral Home from 7-9 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 2, 2000.  
Memorials may be made to New Testament Baptist Church, 1893 Hwy. 70 East, 
Kinston, N.C. 28501.  (Pd. Obit.)
