L.Marie Moore
Hugo-L.Marie Moore,76,of 4106 Hugo Road,passed away Wednesday,Aug.,6 2003,at her home.
She was preceded in death by her parents,Marvin and Leafy Wiggins Moore;daughter Debo-
rah Mallard;brother,Kirby Moore;three sisters,Grace Eubanks,Margaret Williams and Mild-
red Mensen.She was a charter and honarary member of the Hugo Volunteer Fire Department,
chairman of the board of trustees at Edwards Chapel Church,several years as a Content-
nea precinct worker,member of the jury commission,past board member of Greene Lamp,a 
notary,and was a volunteer recipient from Gov.Jim Hunt in 1989.Services will be held at
3 p.m. Saturday,Aug.9,2003,at Howard-Carter Funeral Home.Burial will be held at Pinelawn
Memorial Park with Allen Ham officiating.Survivers include her husband,Jesse Moore of the 
home;daughter Gail Shackelford of Hugo;sister,Jewel Johnson of Grifton;two brothers,Marvin
Moore of New Bern and Richard Moore of Kinston;four grandchildren,Jesse"Ray"Shackelford II,
Wendy Shackelford,R.Kevin Tripp and wife,Stacie,and Steven Shackelford and wife,Brooke;
six great-grandchildren,Jesse Shackelford IV,Lauren Shackelford,Clara Whitfield,Brandon
Tripp and Landon Shackelford.
