Obituary of Louisa Faulkner Bland ~ 1956

April 23, 1956. Monday. 
The following obituary appeared in the Free Press, Kinston, NC. 
"MRS. LOUISA BLAND: Mrs. Louisa Faulkner Bland, 87, died at her home on Liberty Hill 
near Kinston about 6 p.m. Sunday following a lengthy illness. She was a widow of R. E. 
Bland and a member of the Queen Street Methodist Church. She was a daughter of the 
late Leander and Rebecca Faulkner of Lenoir County.

Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Tuesday from Garner's Funeral Home with burial to 
follow in Maplewood Cemetery. Services will be conducted by her pastor, Rev. Mark Lawrence.

She is survived by four sons, L. D., F. B., H. M., and R. W. Bland, all of Kinston; one 
daughter, Mrs. M. W. Bizzell of Kinston; six granddaughters, including Mrs. Willard Rouse 
of Moss Hill whom she reared; nine great-grandchildren; one sister, Mrs. Jessie Wallace of 
Kinston. Active pallbearers will be Jesse W. Jackson, Harry C. Wallace, Ed Massey, D. B. 
(Shorty) Bell, Norwood Bizzell, Jr., and Jack Wooten."
