Obituary of Mamie Bishop Swindell -- 2009

KINSTON - Mamie Bishop Swindell, 89, of Kinston, passed away on Tuesday, 
January 20, 2009. 

She was a loving aunt, who loved spending time with her family and friends and 
going to Bojangles and also enjoyed gardening. 

She is preceded in death by her husband, Elwood Swindell; parents Isaac Thomas 
Bishop, Jr. and Louella Whaley; three brothers; and one great-niece. Survivors 
include her two nieces, Vencie Jackson and husband Thomas, of Kin-ston and 
Gwen Bishop of Mount Olive; great nieces, Cheryl Byrum, Celia Williams; great 
nephews, Dana Jackson, Nicky Jackson, Dondi Jackson, Shannon Jackson and 
Shawn Jack-son. 

Funeral services will be held at 6:30 p.m. Friday at Howard-Carter Funeral Home 
with the Reverend Greg Kincaid officiating. Visitation will follow the funeral and other 
times at the home, 600 Abbott St. Kinston. 

Burial services will be on Saturday, January 24, 2009, at Pinelawn Memorial Park.
