Pink Hill—On Oct. 25, 2004, the Johnson and Jones family suffered the great loss of Martin Greg Johnson. Greg achieved the rank of Eagle Scout, was a graduate of South Lenoir High School and Wayne Community College with a degree in forestry. He was involved with the family farming operation, K. W. Jones Farms Inc. Greg was an avid outdoorsman, loving hunting, fishing and farming. He was a member of Bethel Baptist Church in Pink Hill. Greg enjoyed spending time with his wife, family, friends and beloved dogs, Ace and Little Man. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 28, at Howard- Carter Funeral Home with the Rev. Jimmie Williams and the Rev. Rick Vernon officiating. Burial will follow at Pinelawn Memorial Park. He was survivied by his wife, Connie Jones Johnson of the home; his parents, Judy and Mickey Johnson of Kinston; maternal grandmother Flora W. Martin of Kinston; sister Nicole Sugg and husband, Thomas, of Snow Hill; mother-in-law and father-in-law Gracie and Kenneth Jones of Pink Hill; sisters-in-law Lisa Smith and Kim Jones, both of Pink Hill; nephews Christopher Hough and Rod Smith; and nieces Alex Sugg and Lesley Ann Smith. Visitation will be held from 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 27, in the chapel of Howard-Carter Funeral Home and other times at his home. In lieu of flowers, memorial may be made to Bethel Baptist Church, c./o Denise Stroud, 236 Jonestown Road, Pink Hill, NC 28572.
