DOVER --- Mary DeBruhl Smith, 82, of 3533 Wyse Fork Road, died Wednesday, Oct. 5, 2005 at Lenoir Memorial Hospital. She was a homemaker and was retired from Caswell Center with 20 years of service. She was a member of Dover United Methodist Church. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 8, from the Garner Funeral Home with the Rev. Leland Heath officiating. Burial will follow in Maplewood Cemetery. Survivors include her husband of 65 years, Samuel Eugene Smith of the home, her son, Wayne Smith and special friend, Vicky Holland, of Deep Run; her granddaughter Alisha Michelle Wilson and husband, Melvin, of Lyman; her sister, Edna Parker, of Fayetteville; three brothers, W. L. DeBruhl and wife, Ava, of Kinston James DeBruhl and wife, Joyce, and Ralph DeBruhl and wife, Betty, all of Fayetteville; and several special nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 7-9 p.m. Friday, Oct. 7, at the funeral home and other times at her home.
