Pink Hill—Melissa Ann Stancill, 14 of Pink Hill Rt. 1, Box 205 died Dec. 21, 1997, in a car accident. She was born Jan.2, 1983. Melissa was in the ninth grade at South Lenoir High School, was involved in many activities. Services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Pink Hill Funeral Home chapel with the Rev. Johnnie Pike officiating. Internment will follow at Pleasant Hill Christian Church Cemetery. Survivors include her mother, Lisa Miller Stancill of the home; her father, Johnnie Ray Stancill of Ayden; two sisters, Virginia Lee and Joanna Stancill of the home; maternal grandparents, Robert and Jo Ann Miller of Pink Hill; paternal grandparents, John and Helen Stancill of Ayden; and one maternal great-grandparent, Laura Miller of Kinston. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. this evening at the funeral home and other times at the home of Robert Miller, Pink Hill Rt. 1, Pink Hill.
