June 6, 1976. The following obituary appeared in The Kinston Daily Free Press, Kinston, NC. "MILDRED F. PITTMAN: Mildred Fulcher Pittman, 66, of 1303 Howard St. died Friday at the Oak Manor Nursing Home in Kinston. Funeral services were held at 3:30 p.m. Saturday from the Edwards Funeral Home with Rev. David Alexander officiating. Burial will follow at Westview Cemetery. Survivors include her daughter, Mrs. Mary Bryan Petty of Enid, Okla.; a son, L. A. Pittman Jr. of Sounderton, Pa., two sisters, Mrs. Raleigh Mae Nixon and Mrs. Laurie Norris, both of Kinston, and two grandchildren. Memorial contributions may be made to the Gordon Street Christian Church."
