May 24, 1947. The following obituary appeared in the Kinston Daily Free Press, Kinston, NC. "PITTMAN FUNERAL AT SNOW HILL AT 4:30 ON SUNDAY: Snow Hill, NC - Mrs. Henry B. Pittman, 52, a resident of Snow Hill, died at her home here at 8 a.m. Saturday of a heart attack. Funeral services will be held at 4:30 p.m. Sunday from the home with Rev. Mr. Young, Methodist minister of Snow Hill officiating. Interment will follow in Maplewood Cemetery in Kinston. Surviving Mrs. Pittman are her husband, Henry B. Pittman; two sons, Henry B. Jr. and Alvin of Snow Hill; six brothers, George Bland of Vanceboro, Joe Bland of Salisbury, Frank and Clayton Bland, both of Winston-Salem, and Riley and Glen Bland, both of Greenville; and one sister, Mrs. Myrtle Huff of Chocewinity."
